america's hope

With an abundance of social, economic, and cultural conflicts dividing our country, people have become detached from each other.  These horrific events, however public or subtle, engender a loss of hope in the idea of a better tomorrow for future generations. The purpose of this series is to inspire viewers to reevaluate the ways in which we nurture the children in our lives.

As we strive to progress, it is our responsibility to become the mentors our children need.  Before any action can be taken, we must first acknowledge relevant problems and observe what has to be changed.  Through a photographers lens, I gave a voice to the problems, or lack thereof, that America’s youth face to understand their awareness, their fears, and their hopes.

This series was shot in the summer of 2018 but what these teens address in their statements is even more relevant today.
